Not sure what might be causing this but my Voyager’s inbox can’t seem to pull notifications anymore.

I think the most recent piefed update might have caused this but I’m not quite sure.

Some of the things I’ve tried to fix this:

  • force closing and reopening the app.
  • logging out and logging back in.
  • try logging in with another phone.

Just ran into the same thing on piefed.zip. Happened (still happening) on both PC running browser and iOS app.

It worked fine when I received the last notification 10 hours ago, I don’t think piefed.zip changed their software between then and now.

There are 2 new replies to my post which caused the notification, I can see in developer tools the replies loaded and the json response looked okay at a first glance. Not familiar enough with piefed api to know what the “list” call that got a 404 is for or whether that is a problem.

@aeharding@vger.social Not sure if you’re working on this but it seems like other users are encountering this random bug :/

Also when you have some free time please make a Liberapay/Buy Me a Coffee account as I’d like to support the solid work you’re doing!🤗

I saw it but seems like something instance specific! But I can check again and try to see what’s up

Shadow did an update just now but unfortunately the issue persists.

At this point I have to assume something’s up with the app

Any suggestions for trying to see what might’ve went wrong on our instance?

I have no clue where to go from here, what I do know is I just want my inbox working again

Go to piefed.ca/admin/site and save the form. Sounds weird but it might help.

Voyager is doing an API call whenever the inbox is loaded and that API call includes some data from that form and the underlying structure of it all got changed a few weeks ago. Saving the form will flush out the gremlins. If your sidebar text vanishes after saving the form, here it is so you can paste it back in and save a second time:

Just tried it and unfortunately no dice :/

I also tried logging out and logging back into Voyager just in case.

As I’m out of time today I’ll try Raccoon and Intersteller tomorrow

That was my only guess. The Voyager dev would be better placed to answer this.

@aeharding@vger.social just curious but do you know if anyone else has encountered this issue?

I’ve tried all I can and my inbox is unfortunately still broken so I’ve been having to check our Lemmy and Piefed webui for notification updates🥲

I’m hoping you might have ideas or things you could throw at me so we can test and kill this bug🙌

I am having this issue as well (piefed.ca).

I am using Boost for now since this isn’t an issue over on that app. But I check in every once in awhile and still can’t see my inbox on Voyager.

This isn’t an issue with piefed.social but seeing the other comments here … it seems like piefed.ca isn’t alone with this issue.
