Everyone keeps complaining about smart TVs. I’ve got a Samsung and it gives me no bother. The only thing I don’t like is that when you turn it on, if you don’t do anything, it automatically switches to the last thing you were watching which often means my daughter might end up putting on some horror channel or whatever we were watching the night before after she went to bed.

Feddit.uk is good if you’re in the UK. Then you can switch to Local and see lots of UK stuff.

I don’t know much about them but I like the idea and I’d be more inclined to use one.

We have the Co-op in the UK and it’s a household name. They run a bank and local shops but I think do more than that. They’re not employee owned though, they’re consumer owned. I’m not entirely sure what that means but I remember you used to be able to walk into a shop, pay a small amount of money, and then join. Each year you’d get a small amount of money depending on how much profit they’d made.

Look up “working holiday visas” if you’re under 30. It’s a process to encourage people to get world experience while they’re young. I’m sure if you found somewhere you liked you could then try and get something more permanent.

I was alive during the dot com bubble and I don’t think normal people even noticed it. The web was a lot less centralised back in those days and stayed that way for a while. The websites that people were actually using didn’t go anywhere when the bubble burst but there was a lot more website turnover in those days anyway. People were always moving to a better newer service and there were multiple search engines that people used. Then AltaVista turned up and that was the engine to use, until Google turned up and everyone started using that. I still remember when Google was this cool new thing that most people hadn’t heard of.

It’s not impossible to do at all. Until you’re 30 there’s lots of countries that will let you have a working visa. There’s some cultural exposure program to encourage young people to travel the world and experience different cultures. I’m pretty sure Canada’s on it. I’m not interested in going to the States myself, I like how much room there is but the culture isn’t for me and I find the towns and cities dull.

I like travelling myself and I’m always looking to move somewhere else, being at home is just boring to me and I find it hard to settle.

If you want to make a life of it you need to look at getting some kind of job which will enable that kind of lifestyle like the military or some kind of diplomatic service.

I’ve lived overseas myself and you need to be aware that every country has good points and bad points. Something that seems like a quirk will be fucking annoying after a few years. It’s all good fun though.

I just avoid working from home.

Anything pre-NES era and PlayStation. I had a ZX Spectrum, which was a British console that was around in the 80s. It had lots of fun games which were plentiful and cheap, they’d only be a couple of quid each. But most of them were just really basic versions of what we have now and I have no intention of getting my old machine out to play them.

I’m not nostalgic for the PlayStation because I always felt like the only audiences it catered for were the Japanese and people who liked all that money-grabbing type of stuff, like FIFA. Neither of those were for me.

Well most people get a bit like this after they marry. Are you talking about giving up on finding romance? You can still do it when you’re older but everyone’s gonna be divorced with a kid.

You shouldn’t ever really give up on your health, as you get older you’re gonna need it more and more.

Is this why green sweets are usually lime flavoured when they should all be apple flavoured?

I don’t think I’ve ever had a kid come to the door without a costume, I’m not sure I’d even notice. But yeah, who knows why they haven’t got a costume, so I’d probably give them some.

Nothing that happens on the internet matters.

I don’t mind ads, but I don’t expect to be tracked around the internet. It’s like every website you visit being able to view your browser history. That’s private information.

I used to work a compressed week and started taking Monday but eventually it moved to Friday. When I took Monday off I felt like I had to pay for it with the next four days, when I took Friday it was like I was being rewarded with an early weekend.

Something as simple as a novelty balloon will do the job.

I use it out of laziness. Despite all the shit they still have great customer service. About a year ago I ordered a £150 multi-tool and they accidentally sent me a £200 reciprocating saw. Due to a complicated living situation at the time it would have taken me about 6 months to send the wrong tool back so they just said I could keep it and refunded me so I could buy the other tool again.

The other thing I like is that I’ll just see a price and buy it easily. I’ve often shopped around and found something cheaper but then the whole purchasing process is terrible. They add on a bunch of extra costs, then make me create an account, then add on more costs. By the end I could’ve paid less and got it quicker from Amazon. Not always the case but it happens often enough that I will just go to Amazon half the time.

But I guess the main reason is that I hate being forced to create accounts and so many shops require that for no good reason.

Loads in Morocco as well, they have loads of pharmacies due to all the French influence.
