I think the main thing holding Vision Pro back is its use case. People mainly seem to be using it for monitor replacement, something which I feel like the Xreal Air and Viture Pro have better figured out in terms of price point and form factor. On the VR/AR side of things, meta and Sony are killing them on software library and cost. It doesn’t leave much room for Apple.

Guys, just bring us a bunch of AAA games on PS5 please? How is this not where all the money is for them?

I was running Apple WiFi routers for a good 20 years. Maybe 1/4 died in that time, but many ran 20+ years before I abandoned them for newer standards. Some are still going as whole house audio streamers.

What it should be at that price is a VR steam deck that you can optionally connect to your PC.

I think I’m about 9 months back or more. Sick of breaking changes and I know there are a lot coming up. Seeing how long I can hold out ;-).

I run Zwave and love it. Advantages:

• better range and less interference in 900mhz band with meshing
• better battery life. WiFi uses up to an order of magnitude more power. Battery in Zwave devices lasts for years, with new ones being even better in this regard
• more secure as they cannot be hacked by hacking your internet or getting on your WiFi.
• more feature rich. Zwave devices tend to be geared towards more pro use and tend to have just about every feature you can imagine
• The Zwave standards body is quite strict in ensuring devices adhere to the standard so it’s much harder to get “stinker” devices that don’t. This is a bigger problem with zigbee for example.
• fully local. You can be 100% sure they aren’t sending your data off somewhere
• Generally high quality. I’ve had quite good luck with pretty much all the Zwave devices I’ve bought. They last a long time and are reliable if your mesh is working properly (enough powered repeater nodes).

You shouldn’t have to download an app to replace the thing that the thing you are looking at is supposed to do.

No one enjoys it, but I kind of what to keep abreast of how they plan to fuck us in the off chance it helps me to make a decision that can save me some of the pain.

You get what you pay for. Pretty much every Zwave device I’ve tried has worked as advertised and even had a surprising amount of extra useful features I had never considered.

The graph itself’s utter lack of proportion is more infuriating than the content.

Well never hurts to be over prepared unless you hate wasting food.

But I would like to point out that you were expecting each participant at an unrealistic 100% turnout to eat roughly 20 cubes of cheese each. That’s not including all the other food there.
