The only workaround I can think of is to send yourself a message with the link. But it gets worse because it is pretty straightforward to share the link through an external app, within voyager you must copy the link, go to messages and send one to your name.
Another option could be to create a community and crosspost there as a bookmark.
I’ve been trying to reproduce. It happened once with a double tap at the first attempt just after reactivating the pop up message.
After that I kept trying and did not happen again, I tried to deactivate the pop up browse a little, reactivate the pop up and try to reproduce and nothing.
I saw it happen once, it might be something else at play.
I just noticed that I can fix the issue by switching to another account.
Yes, that was it. I feel a little ashamed embarrassed because I went to settings a bunch of times looking for a toggle for that, it was too specific and it wasn’t something that was happening two weeks ago, and I missed it every time.

What I just noticed is that it seems to exclude subscribed communities when browsing “local”. Because I sort posts by new I just noticed that none of the posts I was seeing in the home feed was present in the local feed. Of course l’m talking about of the communities in my instance.
Is that expected behaviour? If it is I would understand the logic behind it and I’m actually ok with it. But it seems weird.
Today it updated and it started happening to me too, not only I can’t seek, the mute and pause buttons don’t work either. It’s like once in full screen the whole interface can’t be touched.
While on the feed: I can unmute.
On full screen: the controls related to the video don’t work, the others (close, up/down vote, open comments, etc) work fine.
That looks normal to me, all preview pictures have the same aspect ratio.
I just tested it in my lemmynsfw account and everything disappeared, it took a few second but the moment it reloaded the main feed was completely empty.
Even disabling all swipes you can still go to the list swiping the left margin to the right.
Over all it is annoying but not much of a problem because I browse hiding the posts I’ve already seen so I’m never too far from the top.
For me it only triggers when I hit the back button, so that was never a problem for me. I would prefer a way to deactivate gesture for going to the communities list instead, there is plenty to personalise regarding to gestures except that one.
For me the update worked well for two days and now is back.

Sorry, sometimes I try to be so concise that I drop all the details. What I’m trying to do is browse the communities of a single instance. Like when you hit the explore button in the search tab and you can see a long list of communities from all instances, then there’s an option to see only those in your instance.
What I’m trying to find out is if there is something to type in the search bar that would return all the communities from one arbitrary instance.
First thing I tried. Searching lemmy.world and hitting the “search communities” option returns only those that have “lemmy.world” in their description independently of the instance. Searching @lemmy.world and hitting communities again returns no results.
Somewhere I read a two year old post that there was the option instance:lemmy.world to limit the search to that instance but doesn’t seem to work.

I never noticed that setting, I’ll try it. I was “fixing” it by switching accounts, after the switch it didn’t happen again.
Edit: more importantly! This got rid of the gesture for going the communities list!
