Well for example, I read they’re harvesting coral samples so we can try to regrow the coral reefs in the future.

“You’re someone I look up to.”
My brother has said “you’re someone I’ve always looked up to” and I was taken aback. We’re an action vs. telling type of family, one that does not give compliments lightly. It was the sweetest thing to hear. Meanwhile he was the one I admired for having his shit together.

Yeah if they landed in jail and or did some heinous crime. But knowing me, I’d word it as “you disappointment me” instead. Like this is a moment in time and they can still change

Take care of yourself before you care for others😅

I think therapy is always a good option depending on the person. But answering for myself, no therapy needed. To echo another comment, I don’t really get upset by patient cases, it’s more the coworkers that get to me. It does take a certain type of person to work in the ED. Like you need to be a person of action, you can’t be sensitive, can’t get hung up on small details, just do what you can, no regrets. Some aren’t cut out for it, but they usually don’t last that long and end up transferring to another unit.
Idk how long she’s been working in the ED, but if it’s been years now then she’s probably fine🤞🏻lol. And IMO it’s pretty normal for healthcare workers in general to not like talking about work when off the clock. But if she’s ranting, then it’s nice to have a listener even if you can’t fully understand. ;)

Upvote for visibility!!

Maybe make two accounts? One for news and one for fun.

This is a big reason why I love my job lol. Of course you never know what kind of day you’re walking into. Some days can be crazy hectic and you don’t get a chance to yourself. But when it’s a slow shift, it feels like getting paid to do nothing. I love the crapshoot that that is. Though it’s not for everyone, I know plenty of people that hate the workflow/uncertainty aspect.
It’s not a struggle at all. If it is, it’s only because of an unusually high amount of distractions in my environment. Not that the eye contact itself is a difficulty.

Yeah you definitely can build a tolerance. I used to think Buldak was pretty spicy (as in so spicy it’s affecting my enjoyment) the first time having it. Now it’s whatever.

I experience this too. I have to go to my communities list to make sure my subscription’s on there (which it almost always is, but I still have to double check).
Yeah I was in Belgium last year and them OG fries were the best. Really good quality mayo too.
Yeah. These are from the San Francisco Bay Area as the other commenter said lol

It seemed like less but I can’t deny that it could be placebo. It seemed like we got through it pretty fast though

I know, I don’t eat like this usually lol. I’m just doing night shift and it’s only fast food and convenience stores open right now😆

Idk but I feel like Japan started it with their picture-in-picture on TV lol
Oh no. I held onto that as some semblance of good news for the corals😭
