My Pine64 order wasn’t marked as a gift, and it turned up at my door completely untaxed 😳
Those sony Trinitrons sounded so damn good, you could hook up two rca’s to the AV jack and use the tv as an reasonably good speaker
I honestly don’t see how the idea of everyone getting an equal share is an extremist idea
I agree.
Should I be labelled an extremist for being completely fine with, let’s say, a completely democratic business structure, where workers have equal say? A public transport system owned by the people, to serve the people? An education system owned by teachers, allowing teachers to do their best, instead of being overworked and having to pay for classroom supplies at their own cost? Nowhere does it say we’d remove the options for people to use a car, or force them into a packed subway or whatever, and nobody claims it would be a magical perfect system that solves all issues. But somehow the mere idea is extremist 🤯
This idea being conflated/confused with an authoritarian leadership style also causes a lot of problems IMO
I was under the impression that only thumbnails/lower res copies were federated, rather than the full high-res original - if that’s changed then that’s great 👌
The content shouldn’t be gone as long as that server was federated with somewhere?
It will be more difficult to get to IMO - you’ll have to either use a search engine, or query the lemmy resolve object (rs) api method on random instances until you hit one that has the federated content AFAICT.
Images are definitely lost though unless they’re uploaded to a third party that is still operational
Portable and pretty budget, a G29 + arduino with a large LCD to show live dashboard data, head tracking with OpenTrack + PS3 Eye webcam (extremely versatile camera, pretty handy for machine vision with its 120FPS support. Only downside is 640x480 max res, and the 4x array mics only work on Linux)
Only outlier is stick shift running via the Arduino for a few reasons, mainly to reduce wires and setup/packing time (need my desk for other things too, sadly can’t afford a permanent rig), and also to avoid mapping the gears in new games. I just switch between usb emulation of a known device, or sending keypresses 1-6, R
Get my simulator setup working under WINE and i’ll do a full switch, until then it’s Windows on my gaming PC and linux on everything else lol
Thankfully haven’t seen AMP links posted to lemmy in a loooong time. At the beginning of the migration it was pretty painful though, had to use some de-amputator website to fix the links since there was (and still is) no bot to handle them
I dislike that Android makes it so easy to accidentally set an app as default for something, and the only way to reverse it is to revoke all of the app’s defaults
That’s exactly what URLCheck does on Android, acts like a middleman for links and allows you to strip tracking parameters etc, before forwarding you to another app to view the link’s contents
A Lemmy alternative that can interact (federate) with Lemmy and Mastodon, and has much better support for Mastodon in particular
Also try to avoid polyester fabrics
How comes? My polyester sportswear is so comfy, not too sure what other comparable materials are available for breathability and stuff
In cold and dry climates you don’t necessarily get as smelly
This 100%, for me at least
Probably one of the porn instances blocked by almost everyone, either lemmynsfw or pornlemmy
Road Rash on the PS1, absolutely loved it but could barely win a race on it 😂 yeeting other riders off their motorbikes was too much fun.
Also thought the video cutscenes and menus looked kinda cool back then, especially compared to the simple ones in fighting games (tekken, versus etc). Actually thinking about it now, the music on Tekken’s character select screen really made you feel like you were in an arcade
Noncredibledefence defo is set up here, they pop up on /all from time to time.
You could try these fediverse search engines:
boop Naughty, naughty lemming!
This question could potentially be against rule 2… if it isn’t then I guess a bunch of participants are going to see a lot of [removed] depending on their instance’s slur configuration 😅
Thank youu ❤️
Ohhh it wasn’t a Pinephone I ordered, it was a Pinecil v2 and a bunch of accessories and stuff for it. Sorry I should have been clearer lol.
The pinecil is absolutely amazing so far, however the included stock tip is pretty rubbish, doesn’t distribute heat too well. The optional extra ones are much better. The whole thing is deceptively small, I thought it was going to be much larger!
