having things broken down to “per 100g” helps me with that.

the thing is that different people use different serving sizes. – written by somebody who pours lots of oil over salad.

what i don’t get is who uses that little oil that they have to spray it? i just pour oil all over it.

that’s why it should say “calories per 100g” instead. no way i’m gonna just use 0.25g. that’s like eating a single potato chip then putting the package away.

actually i do sometimes think that life is in some sense a drama (theater stage), and what we perform is often at least as important as what we actually do in reality.

i.e. there’s a whole lot of symbolic interactions throughout the day. for example every time that we speak to someone. it doesn’t change reality, but another person’s mind, so it’s a symbolic interaction.

there isn’t any good reason. you should start giving less attention to those who shout loudest, IMO.

i mean it depends on how you define work. if you go by this definition, then basically any mechanical movement (as long as the force is non-zero) is work. therefore, just standing up in the morning, is work.

eh, that’s bullshit. the success of any operation basically depends on the quality of the plan behind it. a plan is information and therefore processed with the help of information processing machines, in other words computers (and the internet).

“organizing offline” is bullshit. yes, you can organize a farmer’s market offline, but anything more complicated than that is gonna give you a PAIN IN THE ASS if you try to organize it purely offline. the internet is the best tool for organization. because it allows information exchange.

climate change can be stopped with solar energy, and the amount of installed solar power has grown exponentially in the last few years. so that’s something positive.

what does “plc” mean here?

first of all i don’t “read books” in the classical sense. i think that the better the author, the fewer words they need to get their point across. (there’s a joke from zen buddhism that says that the truly wise master does not need a single word to make a student understand something.)

as a consequence, reading long texts and the accompanying physical pain are not an issue.

i’ve seen both. there is german program code with german variable names and german comments. yeah, it sounds about as strange as it is.

but it’s rare. most people who work in IT in germany will write english variable names and english comments.
