Local coffee shop here is also a roaster and a helping hands non-profit. Even years ago the price of a cup was too much for me to spare, so I’ve always opted for their beans. The have a subscription with a slight discount and recently started selling 5-pound bags so my price per ounce is even lower than it was in the past. One of the few thing that hasn’t gone up.

So, I’m a little lost. You think AI isn’t useful because it isn’t generating profits? Or you think it’s not useful because of how it distills information and presents it in a chat interface (which was the only point I made)?
So only profitable things have value?

Yes/no is less interesting than your reasons for your answer. And most importantly, what impact does your answer have?
For me, it’s a no. Because there’s no hard evidence. And by not believing, I save a lot of time and lose absolutely nothing.
That isn’t to say it’s impossible. It’s to say nobody has show me where it’s probable, based on hard evidence.
And to those here posting that animals wouldn’t count because they’re not intelligent: you’re wrong.
