I wouldn’t have expected to have strong feelings about this, but what you’re suggesting is bread heresy.
That would explain some things. Isn’t it a little bit odd to handle those differently? Oh well.

Edit: I posted this from PieFed, and it preserved the “?si=” part of the URL, which I have since edited out by hand.
This one I loaded from a private-browsing tab. The URL includes the tracking ID but it may not be connected to me.
2·4 months agoI don’t know the answer but I think “The memory on a modern computer is not necessarily mapped in a linear way” is glossing over a lot of complexity.
Screenshots of MemTest86+ (on their own site and elsewhere) all seem to include an oddball number for the “memory” figure. Your situation is normal.
It seems to me that the snippy responses in here are from people responding to the headline and an imaginary POV from the author. The author has thought about this stuff more than anyone commenting here has.
If I’m trying to juggle several pieces of information and/or tasks in my mind at once, those saved seconds are worth waaaay more than the sum of the time they add up to.
One of the reasons I was able to switch to Duck Duck Go as my primary search was because I could just type “g (subject)” to search Google instead. Firefox keywords are great.
