Which is how I THOUGHT Lemmy would be when I signed up. It’s definitely not that way. I still love Lemmy, but oy, the user base here do not like opinions that go against the norm/majority. They seek revenge. Follow you around to downvote comments, etc. It’s crazy.
Because as many in the tech thread said, it could be for nothing. There are no specific posts that show me even posting to that sub. So it’s not proof of anything other than some person in some instance (where there is no proof that I even posted) decide that they would ban me. And my post history also shows ZERO evidence that I ever posted there.
And really hard to take your seriously. Besides just being banned from World news for your comments. You’ve just had some comments here, that were directed towards me, removed for civility.

Thank you. I was just curious because the guy is really laying into me and laughing about it, but other than his screenshot of an instance I have never heard of, he has no posts to show me that would have gotten me banned. lol
But hey, probably already spent too much time. I think he may have been behind the whole thing. He’s been following me on Lemmy a few days now. Thank you! You guy are awesome!
So what would I have done that resulted in a permaban if I’ve never even heard of that instance? I have only ever posted here on Lemmy.world.
The user who posted it is trying to make some point that I am an obvious troll and says that I got perma banned for “toxic” behavior and then posted that screenshot. And I couldn’t really reply, because I had no idea what any of it meant! I asked him to post shots of any comments on that instance that would have resulted in a permaban, but he declined.
And thank you for the Kbin.earth invite! I have heard others mention it as well, so I will definitely look into it!

And they realized they banned me in error. So unbanned me immediately.
And my removed comment was “k.”
AND it turns out the person I said that too ended up being banned for trolling in that exact conversation. So why don’t you post the entire screenshot?! lol
So not sure that is the “gotcha” you think it is.
But as I’ve mentioned several times, I believe we should focus on discussing the content of the articles posted from here on out, in order to keep with the spirit of this community. And I don’t think this conversation is sticking to the subject of the article. Thank you!

It’s already out there for anyone to see, so all I did was share it here for discussion. If you disagree with the article itself, that’s fine, but calling for it to be censored or accusing me of pushing an agenda simply because it’s not what you want to read is misguided and lazy. Open debate requires different perspectives, not shutting down content you don’t like.

It’s not my job to convince you that I’m not a Republican, that I don’t live in Russia, or that despite posting hundreds of socialist articles to the socialist community, I’m somehow not a socialist. If that’s what you want to believe, cool, then go ahead and think that. Not my problem. :)
If you’re getting worked up over a news article I didn’t even write, that’s on you. Be mad if you want, but I’m under no obligation to prove anything to you. I’ll share my opinion, and you can take it or leave it. Either way, not my problem.
In the past, when I’ve tried to defend myself, people accuse me of not listening. If I stay quiet, they take it as guilt.
Here’s the deal: I’m still going to post what I want in this community because what I’m posting fits within the theme and guidelines of this community which celebrates diversity of thought and opinion.
So, go ahead and expect me to copy and paste this comment into the many, many arguments you’re going to try and start. Whether you believe me or not, I don’t have to prove anything to you. I’ll share my opinion, and you can take it or leave it. Not my problem. :)
You own your data, you can self-host your own Lemmy instance and still connect to other Lemmy instances (Like what I do)
Can ya point to a series of instructions that show one how to do that? I mean, I’ll search on my own as well, but since you seem well versed, I thought you may have some unique insight on a really good set of instructions.
