Surely that would very a lot depending on where they get their energy from? Even the most measly household solar panel can deliver 10W to a charger, in which case, the energy impact would be negligible.
It’s also safer, because you’re not connecting something that might carry data to the USB port. Wireless charging cannot transmit data. USB can, so delivering a virus or something that way isn’t out of the question, where it would be harder to do that over wireless charging.
That doesn’t sound correct, considering the amount of wireless chargers that will take 10W, but can only deliver half that to the phone.
I’m surprised that you can wirelessly charge like that. In my experience, wireless chargers are really finicky about positioning, unless they have some multiple-coil trickery going on, which a lot of battery pack chargers generally don’t. Having them in a pants pocket seems like a really good way to throw that alignment off.
On my S5, there’s a little flap that you had to open and close to maintain the IP67 rating. Constantly opening and closing it was a recipe to breaking it off, where wireless didn’t put that kind of wear in.
With my newer phone, it’s easier to keep the cable with a battery pack to charge when out and about, and charge wirelessly at home, since I generally don’t need it done with any great speed, and it saves having to buy/replace another cable, or forgetting to unpack and take it with me.
Qi charging is also pretty standard, which is also good if I have a few devices with different cable needs, but mutually support the same wireless charging standard, since I can put an iPhone and an android on the same pad, without having to swap cables back and forth.
Although most phones made in the past decade will detect that, and suspend wireless (and possibly wired) charging if the phone’s circuits are heating, until the temperature drops.

I’ve received 3 Nicole messages since I’ve been on here, each one with a different photo. It’s weird, really weird. I ran the photos through TinEye and Google Reverse Image Search but I found no exact matches. The photos are blurry somewhat, which implies that they are shots taken from a video, which is a method catfish have used to evade detection. It’s also possible that the original photos have long been deleted (as far as I’m aware, this would contribute to evading detection) and the catfish is using this to their advantage.
They could also be photos catfished from other people.
No, Nintendo does this kind of thing every so often, where they’ll just make an incremental upgrade to an existing console, rather than build a completely new one. The DSi wasn’t a massive step up from the DS Lite, which itself wasn’t that major of a step up from the DS, and the GBA SP wasn’t a huge step up from the GBA.
At most, they just have a minor additional gimmick, but everything else more or less remains the same. Switch 2’s gimmick is allegedly letting you use the joycons like computer mice.

Normally, it would be the electoral system that would act as the check. But otherwise, it doesn’t put any other limits based on political belief and affiliation (other than having allegiances to other political powers). If the majority wanted to elect someone who wishes to abolish the democratic election system, then that is what they will get.
That’s possibly for the better. Being able to bar given political alignments or affiliation from office would either need to be so specific so as to be useless (a modern nazi typically has little directly to do with the original), or be broad enough that it’d be a dangerous thing, since it could be used in either direction.

I think this all happens mostly due to the stress trans people are inadvertently causing their parents. When your kid comes out of the closet, this will happen to a parent regardless of how liberal-minded they are. Even if you have no problem with the concept, your kid being trans brings about new kinds of threat scenarios you never had to think about before. If you’re a sensible, smart and handsome person like I truly fucking am, you can process it in a few years and come out as not being a 100% asshole towards the issue.
I feel like it’s more the opposite problem. For the parents, trans people are a vague boogeyman. They’ve never meant a trans person personally, and they’re constantly told that trans people are just waiting to jump them in the bathroom, or at sports, or all sorts of other things, so they’ve never had to contend with someone they know being trans.
If it was simply stress or threat to the kid, it wouldn’t really explain the reaction to disowning them, since most of those aren’t about the treatment that their kids would receive for being trans.
As an example, medical care/inheritance rights are one.
Back before the days of gay marriage, there were no end of horror stories of LGBT people whose partners were dying from HIV, and were forbidden from seeing their dying partners, or for estranged family to swoop in and kick the “friend” out, preventing them from seeing their partner, often taking everything that belonged to the deceased in the process.
A relatively famous art piece has a similar story, where Boskovich’s boyfriend’s family swept in and took everything from their shared apartment after he died, effectively erasing their relationship in the process. All that was left was an electric fan.
