It’s been decades since I’ve cared about the 4th as an actual holiday. Now it’s just a day that I don’t have to work.

The repetitive nature of communities across different instances is very irritating. I block one community, only to immediately run into the exact same post from the same spam account in the same community on a different instance.
I get that allowing anyone to host an instance removes some problems that a centralized platform like Reddit has, but these new issues are no better. Plus, unless I missed something, Lemmy is still pretty centralized. Lemmy.world still dwarfs other instances, right?
I need to watch more South park. 😂
…could you please elaborate?
Lol, yeah. I’m probably being too optimistic.
I think less than 50% of people with access to technology are tech literate enough to know what markdown is. I don’t think age really applies here so much as interest in technology.
Just because I drive a car doesn’t mean I know or care about how it works. It’s just a tool.
The zoning out part sounds like disassociation. It’s kinda like your brain flatlines or something for a second? I run into that and my psychiatrist prescribes the Strattera generic for it. I would advise speaking with a professional about it. I jumped around between a few different prescriptions before that.
I think I’ve experienced a similar things with the emotional void and aimlessness. Took some years to process past trauma that I think was the cause and I think things are looking up, relatively. If you haven’t already, speaking with a therapist would be a good idea. If nothing else, it’ll help you by just letting you say things out loud so you can hear it. Rubber ducking, basically. Therapists also have good advice and feedback, usually, too.
That’s the neat part. I don’t!
