Easily. I imagine that most spacecraft are already traveling faster than the speed of stick. It’s likely only a few thousand meters per second
I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe… Piss ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion… I watched Pee-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like piss in rain…

Because the stick isn’t infinitely rigid. If you push it at one end the other end doesn’t immediately start moving. The time it takes, I think, is equal to the speed of sound inside that material. Ultimately the forces that bind atoms together and allow them to interact are limited by the speed of light.
Everyone will travel in tubes
Today i helped the hostel owner make a Christmas tree. It was fun. He did most of the work but I sat back and supervised, regaling him of tales of all the times I’ve been really drunk in Christmas eve.
Were going out to a bar later to try and emulate the experience.
I’m subscribing to the Marxist view of the capitalist class. I don’t form my opinions based on movies and I’m not sure what movies you’ve seen that paint investors in the way I’m describing them, but do you have any recommendations, because they sound awesome.
This person has fully lapped up the Warren buffet PR.
I don’t steal tens of thousands of other people’s labour value, so I’m already orders of magnitude better for people than Warren Buffet.
You don’t understand that he and his ilk perpetuate the systems that result in healthcare and education being out of reach for so many people. All billionaires do a bit of philanthropy because look at how easy it is to fool people into thinking they deserve their obscene wealth.
I’m sorry what? He hasn’t made anything. The value created by the companies he owns is generated by the workers. He simply takes all that value that they’ve generated, and gives a poultry amount of it towards charities and NGOs to whitewash his reputation.
He’s not a nice guy, he’s a greedy ghoul.
He’s given back a small amount of what he’s hoarded over his vampiric existence.
2 hours a day?! Go you, you fucking beast.
I run 25k a week and do about 100 crunches a day, maybe some pushups and resistance bands if I remember to. I tend to just listen to my body. 2 meals a day, usually a big meal in the evening and a small breakfast/lunch.
Protein post workout and a good mix of carbs, fibre and protein all the rest of the time.
Children of Ruin is a great book.
Bidets and butt hoses.
It’s comments like this that epitomise the culture on Reddit and something that I’m glad I don’t see a lot of on Lemmy.
That really is the funniest thing I’ve read all day.
I sincerely hope this is a bit… Otherwise I’m sad that someone can be this stupid
There’s this advert on YouTube shorts for some therapy app or service whatever and it’s just vulgar.
It’s this bearded dude filming himself washing his face and I guess the camera POV is on his basin or whatever.
The whole thing is meant to come across as though he is an influencer that you’ve not heard of, that this is a random video of his that you’ve stumbled across, and that this is just an observation that he’s made about therapy that he’s relaying to you whilst he exfoliates his putrid flesh.
I’ve nothing against therapy at all, but this commodification of it, and the way it dishonestly tries to sell it to you is simply capitalism all over. Most people probably need therapy because of the trauma this system has caused on people and yet here it is trying to sell you the cure as well.
To top it all off, watching this 2010s hipster relic scrub his face with soap is nail curlingly vile and I have no idea what the angle is other than trying to make this not appear to be an advert.
Why? Because people feel what they feel.
Piss, shit, get out of bed
JavaScript doesn’t suck and it’s performance is more than adequate for most applications. If you are doing some serious number crunching you might want to look at web assembly, but last time I checked it doesn’t actually have access to the DOM so it’s not really got any control over the page itself.
JavaScript is great. Typescript is better. Give JavaScript a go and if you want more safety try typescript.
I personally use the Vue framework for my web apps but there are many others out there, and if you really want to keep things clean you can opt out of using Frameworks altogether.
Anyway, you are never going to be able to completely avoid JavaScript no matter what approach you take, so if suggest learning some and making up your own mind
