Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some common things people buy that you would never buy?
1·13 days agoi honestly just did look on justetf.com With the (Only sustainable ETFs) filter, for an ESG etf, and one that is not world/ s&p500 but europe, (and i also looked for an Provider that is EU based)
The short description text then mentions something like “high score in ESG” or “very high score in ESG” or something else
and based on this text and the companies inside it i then just choos
sry it is probably not that helpfull… but like i also did not do that much research into it/ the etfs beyond what i described ^^

Is this really true tho? because i heard they are more enviromental friendly because less coffee is wasted?

6·14 days agoI go with an esg etf, that only uses companies with very high scores, and only from democratic countries (-> no usa)
I feel like that is a good middle ground without spending too much time on this?

7·14 days agofor amazon i think, it makes sense if one buys a lot of small things for some reason online,
but like otherwise often it is possible to buy from the website of the product company directly with free shipping (if one orders enough)
and i feel like every money amazon does not get is good
maybe think about like how much stuff there is actually to do? like in tasks or in things you could do
and then realise that even a full human life is not even a drop in a bucket to do all of this
so that there is no reason to not be alive, since beeing alive will like never get boring
It ofc depends a lot about what you find intresting, but like lets say you are into reading, there are so many books to read. And even if you read all of them (intresting ones), there are other languages, which you can learn, to read even more…
Or like just get linux, and try to set it up perfectly, this alone feels like it could take a lifetime btw
why not just enroll in universtiy again in something that sounds intresting to you, and like study part time? and if it is not the right one, try another?

decentralized armed restiance is what usually is called terrorist, this can hardly be called winning, this is litteraly what the taliban did basically.
also beeing hours away from the police in itself would be a probelm already and sure is not usual.
But even then it already is more likely that you hurt someone with the gun by accident than ever “defending” against any imaginary intruder, if you not live in some lawless wasteland. But then it suddenly is not a problem beeing hours away from any medical service, is it now
edit: But sure if someone lives in some remote place where it is likely that like wild animals attack a home it is different i guess,
still in the end i always ask myself what future i would want to look like, and it sure would not be a place where people have guns
people should not have guns, noone needs them and the places without guns all seem to do fine without them, while it can even be observed in the us curretnly how having guns does nothing to protect you from facism. Only a strong legal system does. In mexico it can even been seen what other the us guns law did to other countries.
guns dont offer safety, only escalte violence.it should be the contranband the police and border security should focus on, instead of a needless war on drugs.
some guy with a gun wont win against a state ever, The weapons are way to advanced. This could been seen in the middle east for the last decades when fighting “terrorists”, and even these were better equiped than anyone who just has a gun.
these gun people delude themself into thinking it would be safer for them if they had a gun, while they are fighting the danger they are themself creating

4·1 month agodelete your account and get always on mullvad vpn, reddit often blocked the vpn exit node, so you just can not use it then lol (but sometimes it works still)
