If only he skipped Daylight.
If only he skipped Daylight.
I’m sorry you feel that way. Have a nice day buddy!
Personally I’ve tried, amongst others, transcendental meditation and a form of movement meditation, combined with yoga. Both did absolutely nothing for my day-to-day focus. The only thing which actually did something for my concentration (unfortunately) was medication.
You come across quite hostile, but so far your argument isn’t backed up by any scientific evidence, it’s just ‘meditation is meant to help concentration, so it also should help ADHD’. That’s a gross oversimplification of a very complex neurological process.
It’s great that you are trying to help, but from your comments I get the feeling that you have trouble accepting that meditation just isn’t a solution or useful tool for all of us.
Please have a more open mind towards the people who are trying to tell you that meditation doesn’t work for them. We are all built differently, what works for one doesn’t necessarily works for another.
I let my password manager create 32 char passwords, that should be enough for a while. But of course then you have websites that throw you a ‘your password is too long’ message and have you find out by trial and error that they only accept 12 characters.
Or the off-by-one errors where they insist that 24 chars are the max, but in reality they accept 23. Probably never tested the limit.
Or websites that truncate your password after X characters when registering, but not when logging in, so you end up with an incorrect password and good luck finding out which limit the registration page actually uses.
but mysqli_real_escape_string() or any number of other similar solutions are indeed a thing that exists. A prepared statement would work, too.
You make it sound as if a prepared statement is a last resort. I would turn that around: as a rule always use prepared statements when dealing with user input. It’s very easy to forget a single call to mysqli_real_escape_string()
.
I’m most certainly not. Oh look, time for The Two Minutes of Hate already. 📺
That’s funny, I could have sworn it was Eurasia last year. I must be mistaken.
Absolutely not, as that would mean my company violates my country’s privacy laws. In my field of work there is no valid reason for wearing a body cam.
They stop trying
Shit, that hits hard, this is so me. I’ve never realised this can also be part of ADHD, I’ve always thought this was just because I’ve been bullied a lot in my youth and the resulting self-esteem issues. Guess I might be double blessed. 😅
Thanks for sharing this!
Unreal only had a single Automag though, so either you are thinking of Unreal Tournament or you played on a modded server. Some servers did have dual automags (I’ve still got a mod and mutator lying around to get them in single player as well) and dual Automags (Enforcer in Unreal Tournament) did indeed dish out major punishment.
Yes, how could I forget Deus Ex. Incredible story and again such a wonderful soundtrack, not surprising as it was also composed Alexander Brandon, Michiel van den Bos, and Dan Gardopee.
As for Half-Life, that game was also something else. But part of me resents that game a bit because it overshadowed Unreal. 😋
The original Unreal. For me it was a perfect combination of beautiful graphics (back in the days of course) and a soundtrack which complemented and elevated the atmosphere of that game. And the gunplay was nice, with a collection of somewhat unconventional weapons. A relic from a time where developers were not afraid to experiment a bit.
Time to install FreeSpace Open again. 😄 For those who have managed to miss that project: it’s a completely rebuilt engine for FS2. Together with the MediaVPs from The FreeSpace Upgrade Project it makes the game look pretty modern again. Take a look at https://wiki.hard-light.net/index.php/Getting_started if you need instructions.
I believe even there is even a mod available which allows playing the first FreeSpace in FSO.
Nah. But I would recommend not trying to go for orange next you you try the vending machine. You might end up with lemon-lime.
Also keep in mind that the maximum number of monitors depend on the resolution(s) you want to use. Don’t expect to be able to have a monitor @ 4K in your chain for example. https://www.displayport.org/cables/driving-multiple-displays-from-a-single-displayport-output/ has a table with some examples of resolutions and the corresponding maximum number of monitors you can add to your chain.
I’ve got a waterproof timer which I set when I need to shower within a set timeframe. Seeing a countdown helps keeping a sense of urgency and helps me with not getting lost in thought. When I’m not on a limit I’ll put it in clock mode so I can let my thoughts wander, while still having some sense of elapsed time.
My surname contains spaces. I’ve yet to encounter an airline that is able to handle that properly, so my last name on a ticket never matches my passport name. Either parts are missing, or they just print it as a single word. Never given me issues, so I doubt a slightly truncated middle name is going to pose a problem.
WhatsApp. I’d prefer something not owned by Meta, but tech supporting my parents already costs me enough time without adding extra apps to the mix and all their other contacts use it.
I’m so glad crap like that isn’t valid in the EU.
