Unsure if the resin is bad or if it needs to be fully replaced. Tips for a man without a dad appreciated.

No, the softener regens every few days depending on water usage.
Mine regens 1-2 times a month but it’s only my wife and I and my plumber said that was normal so hopefully that’s ok. I inherited this system so not really sure about maintenance
