Someone on c/asklemmy recently posted a question and then deleted it, as is their prerogative. However, someone on that thread told an amazing anecdote that I had wanted to read again. I even responded to it, but while my own comment is still in my comment history, all I see when I try to view the context is that the post was deleted.
Is there a way to retrieve the comments on a deleted post? Or is this incredible anecdote about a mysterious museum theft lost to time?
Ok I sleuthed and found it using Lemmy’s searchbar for the mention of “museum” in asklemmy community, sorted by new, good thing you asked quickly enough.
You can read it in @aramis87@fedia.io 's profile. I’ll post a reproduction of it under this comment. (DM me aramis if you want me to take my copy of your story down)
You’re fine to share this; thank you for finding it for those who are interested!
You are my hero of the day.
Also, @aramis87@fedia.io, do you mind if I repost this to c/bestoflemmy?
You’re absolutely fine to spread it. I’m just happy that people liked it enough to remember and share it :)
