Or it is only possible via AirDrop?

I believe OP isn’t asking a question about which radios files can be transferred over, but rather is it possible to use Bluetooth File Exchange, which is part of the Bluetooth protocol stack, for receiving files on iPhones.

      Oooooh, ok.

You can’t. This is why Apple developed AirDrop. It’s much better than simple. Bluetooth file exchange, however, it was pretty stupid of Apple to also disable Bluetooth file exchange, which used to work just fine on iOS devices until AirDrop came around.

      ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You think it was stupid? It was obviously an intentional choice to influence people to pester their friends to get Apple devices so it will ‘just work’

It being an intentional choice doesn’t make it not a stupid choice.

No, it was clever from a business decision. Unethical, but strategic. ‘Stupid’ would imply it was a mistake, or not considered properly.

Should also be noted that macOS does support Bluetooth File Transfer natively, so they did already implement it elsewhere.
