      Yes Turkey is in NATO and has been since the early fifties. That’s probably what you were remembering. Since most of the EU is also in NATO (if not all, I’m not gonna look it up) it’s a totally understandable brain glitch!

      It’s been in talks forever it seems. The current authoritarian gov is actually a major hurdle for membership at the moment. They tried to leverage the whole Finalnd/Sweden NATO thing to become part of EU, but it didn’t work.

      Yeah, I can understand that.

      It’s like figuring out where Ireland is on Brexit, the UK, the British Isles, Britain, etc. It’s in half the groups Wales is in and half that it’s not.
