No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Does it happen when the law arrest a drug kingpin or whatever and they offer the cops something like 10mil a piece to let him/her go? Has anyone ever actually taken it? Or is movie trope?English
1·1 month agoIn my country you wouldn’t even be able to get a warrant for this when it’s about domestic violence.
Maybe only when there’s actual threats that the victim has removed from their phone, which are likely to still exist on the senders phone. But even that is a stretch and a warrant for the data on social media services is far more likely.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•I got a DMCA notice for having a fork of GPL 3.0 codeEnglish
57·2 months agoIt looks like the repo has at least one commit by a user named jellyfith. This might mean that besides being scummy towards forks, the original creator might also be using GPLv3 code written by somebody else, which would be a violation.
Maybe they’re the one who should get a DMCA notice.

3·5 months agoThey worked towards this using the Nuremberg Laws and the Kennkarte. Most Jews identified themselves as Jewish because the alternative was worse.
Anyways, suspicion was good enough to jail possible Jews. And it got worse and worse in the lead up to the war.
