Some words if advice.

1. Have kids young. You will never be ready. There is an old expression, “In for a penny. In for a pound.”. Either you like the idea of kids or not. If you do, don’t wait just do it.

2. Romance. African women are 🥰. If they’re part of the Diaspora and like me you tend to be more if an introvert the juxtaposition can work amazing.

3. Don’t forget the forest for the trees. Yes the world is on fire. Yes things are increasingly bleak and hopeless. Enjoy life. You have family and friends and they are still important and mean something. Cherish that.

4. Everyone makes mistakes. What’s important is do you learn from them and how do you recover?

5. Comparison is the thief of joy.

6. Be different. Be contrary. Challenge. If everyone jumps turn around and look at the person telling you to jump but don’t do it blindly.

Best we can do is educate our kids my daughter has friends who have anti-vax parents. Mine are not and I do my best to educate other kids when here. I don’t undercut their parents. I simply try to provide them with the facts and the hope is, the long game they will get smart.

I also want to add the danger of taking “facts” at face value. I have ADD as do my kids. They are inundated with information I never was and I have to debunk a lot of shit they see online because of the source (manosphere shit is everywhere). Seriously it’s an absolute fire hose of bullshit online if you don’t know how to filter content.

I was awake one night at 3am doing on call and googled “what is the opposite of depression” because I am genuinely always happy. Since then I’ve been acutely aware I may have undiagnosed mania along with my diagnosed ADD.

You don’t make any serious money from a casual hobby. These people treat it as a job, because it is one.

Many streamers start while either in school or working full-time until they reach a point where they can hopefully quit their job and stream full-time. Many don’t get there.
