You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK: The CIA proposed a 9/11 style false flag attack on US citizens to justify invading Cuba
193·7 months agoUS is the Andrew Tate of global politics right now. They were a lot more subtle about it before though. But the core values that have always held throughout history are absolute self-interest, entitlement, and hubris.
Apply Gestalt Theory to the US and watch how unrestrained capitalism raised this baby from an idealist freedom seeker and into a narcissistic bully with self-aggrandising sophist reasoning and a pure Machiavellian outlook on life.
Trump only did away with the pretences, by firing the people who took care of the subtle masquerade. He didn’t like the pushback from them on global policy, and because the shoes already fit, decided to just do it live on stage without the makeup.
Unfortunately for US citizens, that means that they get to experience the splashback as he pisses on their international credibility.
A historically meticulously curated and maintained image that’s now irrevocably ruined forevermore. No sane person can trust a promise or a treaty made through US foreign policy ever again.

That’s disgusting.
You should always scrape the visible part off, and keep going until there are no more visible spots. Try not to skim too much of course.
You’ll still get all the extra protein from the mycelia but without the green fruiting bodies. 🤮

So, what other fix is there to avoid this besides removing windows?
Editing the registry, using a debloater, I can think of a few things. Even downgrading/reinstalling Windows could be an option.
Your blanket “remove windows” solution is just trolling at this point

141·1 year agoI’ve been a Linux enthusiast since 2010, I went all the way and started to daily drive it since 2013 after I got pissed at windows for destroying my dual booting setup for the umpteenth time, but it wasn’t a simple decision by any means.
I adore Linux and I love promoting it to people; but unlike you, I don’t try to force it down their throat with asinine comments like these. Give pertinent advice or GTFO. Do you expect people to uproot their OS/environment and everything they’re used to based on your casual comment or what?
Stop making people oppose Linux on principle and stop making more Linux haters with obnoxious comments like these.

Edit: If you can’t switch to Firefox and you’re looking for a good alternative that’s privacy-focused and functionally similar, take a look at Vivaldi. Solid chrome-based browser.
That’s the thing though, most people don’t fall in the same demographic as you.
Even negative attention is attention. If it bothers you then you’re thinking about it. If an advert bothered you enough to complain about it online or to someone irl then even though you’re not a customer, you’re a vector of transmission increasing their organic reach.
It’s an abhorrent concept.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is a beautiful concept or idea that continues to blow your mind?
1·3 years agoThat’s the wrong interpretation of “observing”. Observation is the act of measuring the properties of an object/particle by “interacting” with it. Basically if something is not being observed (I.e completely isolated) it enters superposition until such a time that it’s measured/interacted with again. Observation has nothing to do with consciousness imo, just connection to causality in the universe at large.
Nothing much. Fuck SDAM.

0·3 years agoI see what you mean, but if this is possible, then I don’t see why not the entire universe as a whole near T≈0.

Because it’s unfair to assume that everyone has the necessary education or awareness of what the internet is and what online privacy means that we take for granted.
