Right? I couldn’t get any retailer in the Los Angeles, CA (USA) area to accept shopping bags, forget cereal bags. Happy that the state sued the shit out of them then banned plastic bags though: it always sucked when I’d forget my bag and I’d have to pay for that thick-ass plastic shit.

I do still struggle with plastic bags in packaging still though because my waste management company doesn’t accept them.

I’m in the same boat but my wife doesn’t cook meat often. She also doesn’t like pork.

I have been around some old friends in the Midwest though who were cooking pork chops and yeah, you’re completely right: the smell is much nastier.

Disgusting as fuck. I never cooked raw meat at home as an adult and eventually after some years I went full on vegan. Why continue eating animals when it’s completely unnecessary?

Honestly I didn’t think anyone was taking his comments seriously but it turns out it was just me. But seriously: unless he actually does something I don’t believe a single word out of his KFC grease encased throat.

It’s hosted on Docker on Alpine Linux on a Raspberry Pi 4. It’s actually doing a trillion other things too and it’s not bogged down at all.

If you look at most apps they’re just wrappers around the websites. Usually they’re using the exact same domains for payment processing so I can only imagine that the payment details are 99% the same.

Personally I haven’t experienced an increase in card declinations on websites.

I haven’t worn jeans in 10+ years. Am I missing something? Why wouldn’t you wash them?

I buy whole coffee beans from a local roaster but a few times I’ve run out and walked to the Starbucks around the corner to purchase a small package of whole beans.

When I grind them they seem very oily and almost too soft somehow. That might be normal (I really don’t know) but for whatever reason it gives me heartburn (which I rarely have).

Isn’t that just the boot loader you’re still writing to some specific part of the disk for the CPU to find?

Having attempted to install Linux on an ARM device I think the real answer boils down to how ARM works. You could have UEFI or a BIOS but more likely the CPU will scan for data at specific offsets toward the beginning of the disk for a bootable kernel.

I just had to implement a drop down where users could type their entry because they can’t figure out how to type the first few fucking letters to get to their choice. Really annoying.

Then people got pissy because their browser would sort results in the wrong order (except Safari) so then I had to deep dive into JavaScript (gross). I hate it.

This is really common where I work but I don’t understand why. On macOS I’m more likely to use ls -1. Do you need to know permissions or file sizes often?
