Oh yeah, I know - I just meant that someone might have (erroneously) changed it in the backend of whatever site that is. Was always a long shot though.

Ah well, that sucks. Sorry, hope you can find a way to read it again 👍

Is there any chance it’s showing as unavailable because they’ve renamed it to Mickey 17? I’m sure you’ve checked that, but just in case…

They need to consider the difference between having something to hide and having something to protect. Privacy is something to protect, regardless of what it might be in aid of.

I love this. Definitely going to try it sometime 😁

Stone and Parker are the embodiment of genX politics. That is the cynical mantra that people who believe in stuff are the real fools.
Even if that was their mantra (which I don’t think it is), it’s absurd to generalise that to all of Gen X, as if all of us have the same politics.

Sure, some are like that. But not enough for it to be “average football fan behaviour” - it’s the exception, not the rule.

Absolute nonsense. By far the majority of football fans want nothing to do with the kind of pricks who do this sort of thing.

Northern Ireland contributes to the Irish team
They actually don’t, NI has their own side and they have qualified for the WC before (1958, 1982 and 1986).
The reason for individual teams is partly traditional/historical and partly because the UK is a union of nations, with the nations each having their own footballing representation for well over 100 years. I don’t know the specifics of India, but it’s not (as far as I know) a union of different pre-existing nations.
Also, given that despite their huge population India have never qualified for the World Cup, it seems unlikely that individual states would do any better.

Agreed - but with the caveat that examples where there was one, but it was later removed, don’t really count, because the way it’s done screws up the timing.
To judge them fairly you’d have to somehow see what the same show was like if intentionally made without laughter from the start. Some might pass, others wouldn’t.

That was interesting, thanks for the link 👍

Oh yeah, definitely.

Of course - a sitcom intended to have a laugh track, and edited that way, is always going to sound totally wrong when that element is taken out.
The presence of a laugh track in the original show doesn’t automatically make it bad though. Many genuinely great comedies have had a laugh track included.

It’s a fun idea for science fiction authors and theoretical physicists, but no one has proven it’s real.
Not in this universe, no…
Yeah, fair point. I was thinking of those 45s that don’t have a punch out as an option.
The different playback speed also allows more music to be squeezed onto each side of the disc (albeit at a slightly lower quality).
Just to add to this, many 45s came with the same small hole as LPs and 12" singles. The big hole was there for 45s that were to be used in jukeboxes, I think.

changing to Signal would isolate you from most people and businesses.
Sounds great - if I wasn’t already using Signal, that just might persuade me 😁
You have to put stuff like what job you are, which made me think “oh so people are only selecting really smart/successful people? I probably shouldn’t bother then?” because i simply study full time.
I’m only speculating here, but that might just be for monitoring purposes to see which demographics donate more than others (and therefore, where to concentrate efforts to recruit).
I’d hope they weren’t letting people choose a potential donor based on that sort of thing.
There are loads of such channels, of course, but I really like Chess Strategy for a range of puzzles and studies of varying levels of difficulty.
It won’t necessarily teach you how to win a game from start to finish, but it’s helped me see move possibilities. And it’s just fun in general, the host is great.
