2·9 days agoThat is fucked. We don’t have voting machines here, just scan-tron style ballots which are anonymous and sealed that way.
IDs varies greatly in the US. They are not federal, they are not free, and the difficulty of obtaining the documents to get your ID often disproportionately affects poor people. In the US we banned poll taxes for many of the reasons people oppose these voter ID laws.
As someone opposed to voter ID laws, how does voter ID remove anonymity when ballots are anonymous?
I would like to point out that statements like this can be used to stir up voter apathy which overwhelmingly benefits one party in the US.

Why do we need to know this?
Disagreeing with you is not trolling. You could have walked away from your argument any time. And while the other person crossed the line, your tone was rude and dismissive first.
If you’re going to be so liberal with the reporting tool you need to use an app that lets put a descriptive reason. Make whatever excuses you want, but you were so haphazard you reported your own comment. I always read the entire thread for context so one report is enough unless there’s a new rule broken in another comment.
Let me ask you a question. Do you think I’m more annoyed at @Kolanaki@pawb.social for bickering with you, or that you submitted a report for every single one of their comments that just says “breaks community rules” and does not say what rule it broke? You spammed it so much you even reported your own comment.
Next time you two better act like adults or I’m just banning both of you. One for abusing the reporting system and the other for incivility. I have you both tagged with “shitlist” in my app.

I’m trying to be consistent in my execution of the rules and this one gets dropped by posters a lot.
Edit: locking until you correct and message me it’s done. This is how I’m going to handle these innocent rules violations going forward. If it’s malicious it gets removed, if it’s a mistake I’ll lock it and people can let me know when it’s been corrected.
Since this comment you’ve reported two comments, not posts, where people posted a gif with text. You’re being ignored because that’s not a rule violation. You cannot clog up moderation queues just because you don’t appreciate people’s comments. Please do not report anymore comments for that reason.
If there’s a low effort POST like you described, I will be happy to remove it as that violates the sub rules.
