You should read the New Yorker article “Utopian for Beginners” by Joshua Foer. Really interesting with a dark twist.

The leadership in the Democratic Party is absolutely miserable at communicating, especially in this digital era. They seem to still believe in the discredited Biden era philosophy that if you simply do good things people will notice.

That’s compounded by the fact that Trump is particularly good with his lizard brain at dominating the airwaves. That makes it much harder to get your messaging out but honestly they are barely even trying. And I’m not sure they have a compelling message to begin with.

Symptoms are similar to vertigo. Do you have any new stresses or medications lately? Ask a doctor to rule that out - it could be a sign of a larger health problem and you want to rule that out before you can start considering external causes.

I think the Right Wing Playbook series on Youtube explains very well why we shouldn’t suffer alt-right and fascist style argument anywhere. They are not in good faith and don’t contribute anything to the marketplace of ideas.

True conservative thought has a place but that is very very rare to see anymore.

Do you have a third party you would trust to help mediate? Sometimes it helps to have an outsider’s perspective.

I don’t know how useful NATO is without the USA. The EU, for instance, also has a mutual defense clause.

I still wish there was an easy way to ‘port’ existing games into a pseudo VR environment. Basic idea would be you still are sitting to play with a controller and the same control scheme. The VR part would be being able to look around with the motion tracking in the headset.

I want to play flat games like Elden Ring same as always in third person, but have the world surrounding me in VR. Maybe there are motion sickness issues that would make that hard.

All in all I think the current trend of fully immersive VR-only games is limiting and more things like this would really benefit the uptake.

The VR market is splintered into several smaller ones with each maker offering exclusives. So there probably is ten truly great games but they are split across each store.

I feel like if these companies really wanted VR to take off they should work to be sure any game is available on any headset to start building the critical mass they need to actually have a functional player base. Only the enthusiasts are going to spend time researching what set offers what.

There are so many fewer great experiences with VR than with flat gaming so it’s much, much more important. I am pretty sure Valve understands this but you still have Meta and Sony hoarding exclusives and limiting the overall experience.

Revolution is extremely painful and I’m not sure anyone is up for that regardless of how much it is needed.

We should focus our efforts on getting inside the Dem party and taking over from within. Which takes time and effort. The capitalists did it to the GOP through MAGA finally after decades of effort. Unfortunately a lot of people think their only civic duty is to vote once every four years.

I was surprised while reading German 20th century history that people were required to check in even in new towns. Explain their reasons for being there and how long they were going to stay. This was even if you were German. I would love to know more but it seemed like a less formal system - lile you had ID but it helped if you knew people there and or had good reason to be there and plans for when you were leaving.

I have lots of experience with this but to keep it brief for now I would start with checking the visa requirements of the destination country. I have a friend who was going to move and after he arrived learned that he cannot apply for a work visa while in the country.

And to add to that, the Republicans can remove the Senate *filibuster at literally any time with a simple majority vote so it’s clear they think it still serves them to leave it in place. They will remove it when/if that calculus changes.

Many, at least half, of my local stores still have one though I ended up getting a grinder partly because I can never remember which for sure.

Truly! It would be a start to at least TRY to explain to these people that the upper class is waging open war.
