I learned to moisten the eye of the needle instead of the thread. It makes threading a needle way easier. Also, making sure the thread is cleanly cut at the end and not fraying.

About ten years ago I found and ordered a glass bottle with a fitted silicone lid. It’s not tight enough that the bottle can be tipped upside down without the water slowly dripping out, but it’s great for keeping stuff out.

I always wanted to see a company make a glass bottle with silicone top that was completely leak-proof.

I think it’s for anti-tampering purposes. Imagine the consequences if some bad actor tainted those pills with something or replaced the pills with another.

Most democrats at the federal level are complicit in a lot of what’s going on, including Musk’s DOGE treasury crap (crimes?) despite him not being a government employee or confirmed by the senate. Hell, most congressional democrats JUST in the last year voted for the legislation that enables ICE to indefinitely detain any suspected immigrant suspected of committing any crime. No due process. No actual crime needed.

Screw voting for democrats. Democrats voted to let the government round up the people I love to be deported or tortured. If we still have the power to vote, vote for leftists. Or vote for left-of-average-democrat people like Bernie.

I would argue that any actual increased aggression could simply be attributed to the state of the country (the US federal government is broken) and the fact that most US americans are not having their needs met financially. The billionaires who run the system dramatically increased the prices of everything that’s not optional to pay for: food, housing, insurance, etc…

People feel helpless, overworked, and angry.

I often don’t like it when customer service people say this to me if I have been waiting to resolve an issue that is the company’s fault, because my waiting is barely a choice; the company screwed up and now I am ‘forced’ to spend time getting it resolved.

Only apologize or thank me when it’s personal and sincere. (The size of the business matters a lot in if the apologies or thanks feel genuine.)

Encourage your friends to commit to leaving if they have the means to do so. Within your friends’ lifetimes, the USA will never get better than it is right now (and overall it’s unprecedentedly bad right now).

To OP’s question: I don’t really consider their aunt’s ownership of a few houses to be a practical problem, and she is generally not who I am referring to when I say that landlords are terrible parasites, unless she overcharges (and no, I don’t mean above market rate) or treat the tenants with disrespect. She was told her whole life that investing in real estate is a smart thing to do and provides financial security.

The problem is with lack of regulations, such as how many buildings someone is allowed to own, corporate ownership, rent prices…things like that.
