I meant more aggressive with curation. I’m more aggressive with the downvote button.

I guess I do the same come to think of it, but maybe you’re more aggressive or I’m more loose with the downvote button or both.
Do you by chance only browse your subscribed subs? I think I could pick a few communities to view where most posts and comments are decent and on topic. I am always browsing “all” though so there’s a lot to see and it isn’t always updoot material.
It is known.
Ok that tracks lol
Considering how prolific a poster you are I expected higher numbers in every category? Or maybe this username is a new one?
My upvote to downvote is 10:1 for both posts and comments. Cool tool!

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do some people have so many browser tabs open?
2·2 months agoYes but only for the paid version which I don’t have so I can’t vouch. I’m cheap in that way

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do some people have so many browser tabs open?
4·2 months agoThe main advantage is, if you keep a lot of “bookmarks” (which I don’t, but I like to be prepared) they are searchable not just by name, but also by tag.
This means when you find that good stack overflow page about resolving cuda issues on a VM you can tag it as “linux” “python” “cuda” “VM” in addition to giving it a name. Then you can search for any of those and find it.
The free version is pretty good and it lets you do one level of folders and as many bookmarks as you want. (Oh yeah. It supports folders so I have one for example that is called Unwatched YouTube, you might guess what I use it for). The paid version is probably better because it includes unlimited folder nesting AND it saves a snapshot of whatever webpage you’re bookmarking so you never lose anything. I would think this would be indespensible if you habitually save things like reddit or Lemmy threads so it doesn’t get deleted from under you.
I don’t use raindrop.io as much as I would like, but I would assume it’s a far cry better than a browser with 200 tabs open.

2·2 months agoIdk it’s crazy to see the browser windows of some teammates during screen share.
Read the thing, write down the relevant stuff / copy it to reference notes, bookmark it with raindrop or something that allows you to tag for context, close the whole browser.

131·2 months agoIdk, kids are pretty effective at making it clear that you are now the household NPC lol. Or at least that you’ve transitioned to a role as a supporting character.
2nd kid really hammered that one home.

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK: you can stop Microsoft users from sending 'reactions' to your email by adding a "x-ms-reactions: disallow" header
4·3 months agoBetter to read and don’t reply, or send a message and expect it was received IMO
If it’s worth replying, write a reply. I do not need a notification from anyone of a round asshole flashing different colors and gyrating because you casually agree in a congratulatory fashion.

8·3 months agoIf it isn’t the first email you’ve ever exchanged, why can’t you just plan for the fact that they got your email and if they drop the ball the fault is not yours?
“I’m sending you this thing, if anything is wrong please let me know; otherwise I will assume all is agreed and we can move forward.”
No response required. Stay off my lawn, don’t send me an email or a text or anything else that just says “ok”. Maybe I’m showing my age…

1·3 months agoIs there a set of keywords or tutorial video or something I could look at for this? It sounds like the right way to add smarts to dumb devices. I unfortunately don’t know much about hardware and the only esp I’ve ever used is a 32 and I direct followed a tutorial for room assistant to set it up but I have 0 idea how it works.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why does the GOP think “ANTIFA” is bad?
26·3 months agoHoly fuck that is practically impossible to read. It’s like something I would expect to see in grandma’s facebook circles, not from an alleged former teacher.
If you’re looking from sense from maga folks you’re not going to get it, if you want to hear from voting liberals you will get your confirmation, but yeesh. There are, I believe, three questions buried in there and I can’t even bring myself to join the search party.
Seems like a ridiculous violation of the finders keepers rule to me.
