No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What’s the easiest way to get certified to practice law in the U.S.?
19·24 days agoBecome an LLC.
LLC’s have more rights than citizens.
You start an LLC, name it something lawyer sounding like the last names of your friends but never call it a law firm. Call it civil representation.
Then when you get a customer not a client you can send letters on their behalf.
Most people freak out when they get an official looking letter with a “law name” on it. I’m not talking about the minority of people on here, but the majority of the population.
As long as you disclose your LLC does not practice law and you are simply “representing them” in a very general and broad sense you will be good.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What ever happened to Pizza Hut's Book It program? Where you read a book get a star and if you get five stars you get a free personal pan.
11·24 days agoThey still have it but it is not as common as it once was. Pizza Hut has a book it nonprofit they funnel money into.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Even if we found a feasible way through physics to travel through time, wouldn't it still be impossible due to the evolution of bacteria and our immune systems?
28·1 month agoNobody thinks about that but yes it would. You are not immune to the black plague so you might get that even if you are vaccinated. Plus who knows how many viruses and diseases happened back then.
Stone cold vs the rock. In the middle of the attitude era.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it wrong of me not giving a shit when cops get killed? They signed up for the job know what it entails. Same with Firepeople. I feel bad 4 families but no one gives a shit about Nurses or DRs?
13·2 months agoPeople’s intuition on risk is wildly off here.
Skydiving sounds insane, but in the U.S. it’s ~9–10 deaths a year out of millions of jumps (roughly 1 in a few hundred thousand per jump).
Driving feels normal, but it kills ~40,000+ people every single year.
So yeah—both involve “transportation,” but the one everyone does casually every day is orders of magnitude deadlier than the one that sounds extreme.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Have you encountered anyone who uses ai, but claims not to?
4·2 months agoWe have this guy at work whose only job is to make everything more AI-friendly.
He has claimed AI makes work easier. He demonstrated how he could make a PowerPoint in 5 minutes while it may take a human a day.
He’s annoying and nobody likes him.
I used to be an insurance adjuster for a car insurance company. Worst job in the world. I would meet the insured and they are going through a terrible time. Then I would meet with the auto shop and they want to make as much money as possible. Then I would need to negotiate to get a reasonable number. Then I find out instead of repairing the dents and dings they just put Bondo on the whole thing. So the insured gets a piece of crap vehicle back and the auto shop and insurance company makes an incredible amount of money.
I quit after three weeks.
My kids call me old fashion because I listen to 90s - mid 2000s music exclusively.
My kids listen to newer music (I don’t know the bands) but I show them the impact of 90s and 2000s music had on the industry.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do people call Fiji and Voss Water “Rich People” Water?
2·2 months agoWater from the hose is full of nano bots bioengineered to track your whereabouts.
That’s why I only drink the finest of bottled water

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do people call Fiji and Voss Water “Rich People” Water?
11·2 months agoFiji has that special water bottle with the special labeling. Even if it is “just water”, the packaging makes it look expensive compared to the other waters on the shelf.
I remember in high school people would buy the Fiji water bottles and fill them with regular water. It was a status symbol.
Voss does the exact same thing with their glass bottles.
Evian is the “middle class” of the water world.
iPhone. Don’t know the model number but it has four cameras and is huge.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If Tyler Perry is a billionaire with his own successful movie studio then why are his films so bad?
9·2 months agoTyler Perry is very savvy and knows what works and what doesn’t work.
His movies aren’t made for you. They are made for a specific niche who consumes Perry’s movies no matter what.
Perry doesn’t care if the public at large thinks his movies is bad. All he cares about is catering to his niche.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How to react if a person calls you "degenerate"
5·2 months agoI commonly get called names and have disparaging comments fly my way.
At first, I let them get under my skin. I would get depressed. But I realized this is exactly what they want me to feel. They won.
Now when someone “makes a joke” I just tell myself they won’t win and realize whatever credibility or trust I had for this person is lost. They are wholly uneducated and I make the choice not to engage with them any further.
I win this round. Not them

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Am I messed up being in my 30ish believe in Superheroes actually exsist? And we just don't hear about them? I just like to think that their is a person or persons out there.....
10·2 months agoThere are super heroes out there but they don’t wear a cape and can’t fly.
There are people with extraordinary talents that fight against humanity’s worst villains.
You may not read about their accomplishments in a newspaper or see them plastered on the news.
These talented people prefer to do their work in silence and are very humble with their accomplishments.

A company I worked for was “awarded” several million dollars from Trump. The CEO was awarded a bonus for the same amount they got for the government.
To answer your question, if you have a million dollars, donate it to Trump. Then you can see your million dollar “investment” reap tenfold.
