My parents still do (these days to mean recording something on their DVR). I don’t think young people really watch TV like that do they?

Isn’t that just evolutionary developed instinct? I can’t imagine there would be anybody who’s not pro-self preservation on those terms.

Most (though not all) in the UK since at least the 90s are plastic except for the heating element and electronics, microplastic concerns aside they’re considered more efficient since it’s a better insulator. Regardless of material every home has one I can tell you that.

I know it’s an annoying cliche answer at this point but I really do love my air fryer, it got me out of a cooking rut and made me more creative. I’ve had it for a year and a half an use it 3-4 times a week.
I use it, I like it, though there is something in the back of my mind about the company that sets off alarm bells that I can’t quite put my finger on so I’m cautious. But I don’t mind the model of paying for online services in principle. I would say it’s about as good as DuckDuckGo was 10 years ago when it was still good (DDG has gone downhill like a lot of things in my opinion), and Kagi is the best search I can find now. I do research for work so I need the unlimited (middle) tier since I use a lot of search, I consider it reasonable value for money. I suggest doing the free trial and see how long it takes to run out before deciding which tier to choose.

In which direction? Because if it’s somewhat warm but raining I’d be more likely to lean towards shorts since they’re easier to dry than long trousers.
I believe they’re pronouncing France to rhyme with your pronunciation of pants, not the other way round, it only works for some accents, not mine either.

Never a good idea to use a computer with the preinstalled operating system whether new or used. Always do a clean install, then you know exactly what’s on it.

Based on experience I’ve always found the Fedora community very helpful and knowledgeable, I wouldn’t exactly say humming with with activity on the discussion forums but maybe the best quality to quantity ratio and not much drama.

84 hours without food (that’s 3 full days plus the extra night after). Didn’t feel too bad since after 24 hours my body gave up asking for food so I felt kind of lethargic but not hungry. I did it as a kind of personal challenge, probably ill-advised, but it wasn’t too bad for me. I still drank plenty of water throughout that time. I wasn’t even that hungry when I broke the fast, I just had a light salad, then I felt really hungry in the hours afterwards…

Where I live it’s not so much that supermarkets are cheap and good, more that McDonalds is expensive and bad, but there seems to be a myth that they’re cheap. I’ve been to Oslo actually, was pretty expensive there, is McDonalds cheap in Norway?

I’d rather eat out of a toilet to be honest. I could get good food for that money from the supermarket next door.

They’re all not good and over-priced aren’t they? Does anyone really have a favourite?

I think you’re probably right, though I feel like there’s something nagging me in the back of my mind that I’d seen that somewhere in software pre-Windows 95 but I can’t think of it. They were using it a lot in the 90s definitely.

For me eggs are a better improver of foods than a base for a meal. I.e. I’ll rarely crave “eggs” in general, but I could be planning a meal of something else and then think “oh, an egg will be nice with that”.

More clumsy to use than a mouse/keyboard setup, smaller screen, fewer options when it comes to adblocking/privacy (or options in general).

No, I have to own my music if I’m going to enjoy it; the thought of a company being able to take away music that I love takes away the enjoyment. I need at least the files and the backups under my control. It’s not even about price, I would still buy CDs and rip them if that was the only way.

But they did, I made a friendly comment, I was even self-deprecating about it, mostly to be funny, and they accused me of having prejudices. I don’t take well to being called prejudiced, I’m not and hate people who are. Then they randomly brought up racism, that was a weird exchange.

No. OK, you’re not being a rational person here so goodbye.
That’s true. I would always say “filmed” for that which come to think of it alludes to even older technology.
