Depends on where you are. In Europe they are free and checks have a surcharge.
In the U.S. they generally charge a small fee or do other shenanigans. Example: Intuit puts the money in a holding account for 5-7 business days before delivering (guess who keeps the interest).
If sending an international ACH there is always fees even if they are hidden in the exchange rate.
It depends on where you are. Some communities operate mostly in cash. Other communities use other methods.
For example, when I am on rural agricultural communities, the local taco wagon is often cash only. The one in larger towns or cities almost always accepts card readers and now phones.
Larger amounts (more than $5,000) are usually checks and occasionally ACH or bank wire. Checks are free however so it is by far the preferred method.
In my small business I accept cash, cards, phones, ACH, International Wires,and checks. It all gets a little confusing at times. I highly encourage checks or cash because they have no fees.

Only the elites and well educated spoke the language outside of native speakers. Both Spanish and Mandarin have more native speakers than English today.
English has a huge amount of people who speak it as a secondary language. The total amount of people who speak it today is estimated to be 1.5 billion. It is the most common language spoke around the world.
The barriers to reverse this trend on a global scale and swap to another language is almost laughably difficult today.

The question is two-fold. How secure do you want the password to be determines what system to use.
For example:
Banking - I never store a password or username for these. It’s always one I can remember. The password is lengthy, multi-factor authentification is turned on etc… I don’t trust any system.
Finanial webpages other than banks, , taxes, healthcare, etc, stuff that would hurt me personally if stolen, I use a stand alone password manager.
Anything else goes into Firefox password manager. Stuff I don’t give a fuck about if somebody hacks my password.

As somebody who grew up with one, root cellars suck.
There is always something rotting in them that you have to throw out. So you get a nasty rotten vegetable and dirt smell going all the time.
Add that in to the brined pickles/cabbage that was fermenting and it was nasty.

If you turn off a few of Microsoft’s more insane tracking in the privacy settings, it disables the autosave “feature”. The autosave fucked up version tracking badly enough that it was nice to have a global kill button.
I have found that turning off most new “features” that Microsoft makes recently is usually for the best.
Leave a USB drive in a drawer for a couple of years and you can prove this one at home.
That’s why my backup drive is an old spinny hard drive.

By default I always turn off the location setting on the camera. I disabled it as soon as they introduced it as a “feature”. I thought it was creepy as fuck and dangerous. Without the location most of the rest of the information is pretty benign.

My newest computer is 5 years old. I see no reason to upgrade anything.
I use my 11 year old laptop with Linux mint on it as well. I maxed out the RAM on it and swapped in a Sata SSD, it boots in under 40 seconds and does everything I need it to do. It’s one of those cheap underpowered Celeron processors as well.

The place was a toxic cesspool at the time. An investment group had purchased 7 different companies and forced merged them in the space of 3 years and went on a massive hiring spree. The company I started with was 350 people. The company I left was over 4,000 people
It was an illegal layoff that I could taken them to court over. However the in-house lawyer knew what was going on and made them give me one hell of a severance package to stop me from suing them. I basically got everything I reasonably would have gotten if I sued.
That ended up being the most profitable year of my life.
My boss ended up CEO for a few years. It didn’t go well. They have 1/2 the number of employees now and 50% less market share.
Sadly the only qualification for becoming a parent is functional gonads not a fully functional and developed brain.
