Don’t do that unless it’s a monotype font, please.
Sincerely, typesetters everywhere.

It hasn’t changed, you were just taught an overly specific application and not taught that it was such.

Print publishing has 500 years of convention built on trial and error.
As a person who learned to type on a typewriter, and then became a typesetter and publisher, and now does a lot of editing, double spaces are only of use in a monospace type face where there is no kerning possible.
Otherwise, type with variable spaces between the letters plus variable letter sizes is physically harder to read when there are extra gaps between the sentences, despite the way you were trained (by boomers, probably) to type.

More like a vague gesture, which, in idiom chock-full of metonymy, is legitimate.

Plenty of bad grammar and speling to go around.
30 years ago fewer people with literacy problems were publicly and obsessively defacing literary norms.

“Reticent” used to mean ‘reluctance to speak’, or, ‘holding your tongue’, but in the last decade I saw it being used more frequently as a straight up synonym for ‘reluctance’. I wonder if people maybe think it’s a more authoritative sounding word?
It’s not a change of convenience or cultural drift, just a sign of people reading less and subconsciously trying to hide it, I think.

No, just foot soldiers of ideological subjugation. Emotional abusers. Cultists and colonizers.

Wow wonder how I am able to do it without that problem then.

Just lift the fuckin seat to pee then omg
Use your foot for that if you have to

Because the endgame of the way we are developing the technology is not Star Trek but I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream.
It’s an existential threat, a Great Filter.

I would be fascinated, while wondering how I screwed up so badly that I wasn’t in intimate communication with my own child.

Yess yessss let the Algorithm flow through you

It’s a bullshit term, too much attention sometimes, cognizant avoidance othertimes, not a deficit, a management dysfunction.

Nicotine was a medication when I was undiagnosed, for over 30 years, on and off. I would stop for a while and then small dose here, small dose there, and back at somewhat regular smoking again.
After diagnosis I looked things up, realized why I smoked and that I have better meds now, stopped permanently one day shortly after. Weirdly, no fuss and the nicotine withdrawal hasn’t been a problem.
So, so much freer and cleaner and I have my sensitive sense of smell back.

Savings add up and automation keybinders are an investment.
I once calculated that a full-time spreadsheet and word processing user can save more than a half a day per year just memorizing cut copy paste shortcuts. Let’s not get into the tab key combos, or undo or print or escape, too hard to count, but a lot.

A poet friend once advised me: “it’s not your guts, don’t make it precious to you, just write what comes, it’s not identity or possession, mine it later for good bits”.
Write garbage for a few minutes when you start. Plan on throwing that away. Warm up. Stretch the brain then put it to work. It’s low risk.

35 / 2 = 17.5 + 7 = 24.5
Oh I see why you picked those ages.
Nah.

Yes, I agree, I was projecting about five or six years into the future.
Well it’s okay to break rules, right? So long as you understand how and why.
Your version of readability skews from the norm established over centuries. Fine! Just don’t expect the rules to bend to you.
Readability for author and reader vary. Whose reading comprehension is more important? Your call.
In some cases, it might be appropriate to break paragraph convention and isolate important sentences.
