Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Toothbrush softness is not an objective metric, which allows hard, damaging toothbrushes to be labeled "soft"English
31·22 days agoI genuinely struggle to believe that

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Toothbrush softness is not an objective metric, which allows hard, damaging toothbrushes to be labeled "soft"English
7·22 days agoThe inverse happened to me just recently. Tried out every “soft” brush in the store, all hard to medium. Bought one of them again and it’s feather soft. There has to be regulation on this because it just pisses me off to play toothbrush roulette.

3·22 days agoI’m sorry, I was raised on yeshiva and your Pennsylvania Dutch English flew straight over my head. I also know a bit of jive

3·23 days agoWhen Medea breathed her last and she audibly farted, killing 3 very confused and terrified coroners, I just couldn’t stop laughing. 11/10. A classic

27·23 days agoAirplane is pretty mid anyway. I much prefer Tyler Perry’s Medea goes to hospice, personally.

17·23 days agoMuch of the issue is people getting lost in the sauce, but plenty is marketing. I’m also frustrated. Give a movie 3 tags, tops. Order of tags indicates how applicable they are. Glass onion is mystery, comedy, drama. Cable guy is comedy, horror, thriller. Airplane is comedy, comedy, comedy. It’s not that hard!

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Looking for a YouTube channel that posts anthropomorphized planes and countries who badmouth one another a la countryball edit:solved
6·26 days agoThat’s the one! A comment here mentioned Poland being ready this time, and the vague shade of the memory of this channel felt like an earworm but worse
Edit: they got real racist. I thought I quit watching because they were predictable, but it might have been something else entirely

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•PTA went way too hard on the AI flyers. This was the fifth in just over a week.English
51·26 days agoIf these posters were published online, many reverse image search tools would effectively be able to provide their location anyway. Good on OP for blocking one avenue, but there are others.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Park benches don't "open" until 10amEnglish
5·1 month agoIn some places, benches are destroyed by mentally unwell people out of boredom or misplaced aggression. Sure would suck if someone bored or frustrated took bolt cutters to these padlocks.

2·2 months agoI have this. I just ended up installing a curtain rod and a shower curtain that I remove weekly to avoid pulling off tile via gradual pressure fusion. What a worthless fucking shower

2·5 months agoThat describes nearly everything of his that I’ve read. You can tell that he attempts to make his writing accessible, but the density of his descriptions just makes me lose myself. It’s too much info when I’m fried

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK: 15 minutes of reading a day translates to 12 - 20 books a year
4·5 months agoHardest part is finding something that tickles me even when I’m exhausted. Something floral and alluring, but soft and flowing. Reading can feel like a chore when you don’t have the mind space. I’m presently trying to distract myself with sci-fi and I just can’t take this much information.
Fuck you, Peter watts, you goddamn wordsmith. I can’t take your verbal girth as I currently am!
If you say 10/10, it feels disingenuous. 9/10, no one neurotypical really questions it.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What do late night talk show hosts telling their guest when they walk out and hug? Or when they go to commercial break?
12·6 months agoProbably cues and calming. The more natural an interviewee feels, the better they’ll perform. “Great to see you” and its variations are probably popular. “It was fantastic having you” equally so

I’m terrified of the day that some company starts partly copying articles and changing key details after the first plagiarized paragraph. I will be royally fucked when that day comes
