I’ve visited Switzerland and was very impressed by their infrastructure, not just their public transit but what they built way up in the mountains. Lots of little things like dams, waterwheels, gondolas, little railways to small towns. Amazing stuff you’d never see in the United States

I’ve been to Korea multiple times and every time I come back I dislike the US a bit more. From what I could see, the quality of everything, from food products to infrastructure to safety to interpersonal interactions with strangers, was better in Korea. Oh did I mention healthcare, dental, and vision? I don’t have insurance there but all are super affordable and very fast.

The US is inferior in nearly every way and I don’t understand why Americans are okay with that. Even our food is largely bad for consumption, like what the hell is wrong with us?

If you read the previous comment more closely you’ll realize that the commentor wasn’t comparing today’s NK to Gaza, but Korea during the Korean War to Gaza. That is a reasonable comparison, as nearly every standing structure was bombed.

Why aren’t any raids being reported in Texas?

I’ve noticed this as well, first time was Texas in 2020. I’d lived in other places prior and never noticed it. I’ve sinced moved away from Texas, and the bahavior is a lot less common here. I couldn’t figure out why people did it. My theory is, people initially stop at a reasonable distance from the next car and pull out their phone. The next car moves a bit forward for some reason, and the person on their phone doesn’t notice.

Sounds like you’ve thought about this a bit so you’ll be fine. Everything you may need can be bought in route if necessary. Perhaps download offline maps for your navigation app in case you don’t have cell service.

Maybe pack some healthy food? This is going to sound silly, but I like to buy small heads of green and purple cabbage and just eat the leaves raw while driving. It can keep you from buying junk at a gas station.

You could do some worst case prep, like have a couple gallons of water in the car and other things to keep yourself alive and comfortable in case the car breaks down somewhere inconvienent. If you have time you can buy a roadside assistance plan from AAA or similar so you can get towed to a mechanic, but you very likely won’t need it.

I’ve been driving for over 20 years and I’ve never had a car break down in route. Just make sure the tire pressure is fine, the tires aren’t shit, and there are adequate levels of engine oil and engine coolant. That’s all you can really do.
