I have a minnetonka outback hat. Its leather and its 20 years old, I wear it whenever I have the chance. I get comments and compliments every time I wear it.
Be the example, wear that hat you long to see.

1980’s nerd here.
I fly camera drones, sometimes for money. I can buy a DJI mini 3 for under $400 US, and it is capable of taking perfectly steady video and pictures even in a pretty good wind. It will also stay in one spot in midair for close to half an hour before the battery runs down.
And a DJI mini 3 is a cheap beginner camera drone.

Faraday. 😋
It would be catastrophic around densly populated areas, and be easier but still hard for rural residents. It would be a while before the lights came back on.

Dismantling, or perhaps merely regulating the stock market would help a lot.

Nationalize the companies owned by the oiligarch(s) in question, maybe? I’ve no idea either but it seems like there has to be some option other than “throw up our hands and admit defeat”.

Here is a video from someone explaining why you should run the water hot before turning on the dishwasher, along with a few other tips.

So your commute is a fraction of a commute in the US.
Here it might be a 30-45 minute ride in a car. One way. Do you see why $5 fuel would be a much larger problem here?
I have an EV
Good for you. So do I.
Everything you own and eat involves a diesel engine somewhere. That is the real problem. People with EV’s have to eat still.

Ive never understood people who hate and destroy gardens.

How long is your commute

Or was planted/harvested by a tractor.

In the US Aldi grocery stores do this.
It has mixed effectiveness. Usually people put their carts up, but not always because “who cares its a quarter”.

“Boom, Headshot!” comes long before “Boom, Head” in the US, sadly.

Ohhh that’s bad. No pay and no food makes it difficult to run a ship.
Maybe. I would have thought there would have been brass pushed over the side just for that food but I don’t know if that’s happened.

Plus most of us are assisting our elderly surviving parents
I keep seeing this with people I know, including my spouse and myself. We have spent our entire marriage so far taking care of old family members. Why us? Because my wife is literally the only competent person anyone in her family knows. And she’s very caring and compassionate.
Or she was. None of the elderly people we have supported have been nice or easy to care for. My wife got tired of feeling used. We have decided that we are no longer an unpaid skilled nursing service and therefore we are the most heartless people to have ever existed. It has not been popular but there aren’t yet laws demanding we take care of them.
My family, on the other hand, is more organized and generally heathier. But i have still explained to my parents that they had better have a plan, because we aren’t it.
And I wonder, how many other genx and millenials have made this same decision? How many will sleep on the Boomer-only bench?

If the grid can run the AC it should be able to handle the heat pumps, arent they basically the same machine?
What i keep seeing over and over again is that if one cooperates with them, they get killed or dragged off to a torture camp never to be seen again.
So there isnt anything to lose by not cooperating.
Im going to guess there are fewer desperate, discarded, angry people in Switzerland.

This is a line of thought I had not considered.
That’s fair. I wear mine in cooler months.
Perhaps I need a summer hat.
