100 upvotes. I don’t like responding to people because I’m not good at it, as a introvert.

AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zipto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What language courses did they have in your country’s schools?1·13 days agoI don’t remember what my middle school had, but my high school has Spanish, French, and Japanese. I don’t remember why, but Japanese interested me, and this was before I even knew anime was really a genre of animation. As in I’d obviously seen it in the past but didn’t recognize it as anime.

The only exception would be gym class, or orchestra class, where the phones would probably just be in the teacher’s office ( classroom? ).
This wasn’t the 90s or 2000s, but later. I personally think it’s a pretty good idea. Even if everyone has a phone, having a backup in the classrooms just in case is useful since, unless the power goes out, you don’t have to worry about not being able.to call the outside world if your personal phone is dead.
Front office definitely had their own corded phones as well. I presume it’s the same for middle school as it was for highschool, but student office had a phone that the students could use in case they needed at my highschool as well.
Edit: the phones were normally on their desks, so messing with them wasn’t an option. We did have a PA system at every school I attended, but I don’t ever recall there being a way to respond outside of calling the front office.
Faygo. Specifically either red pop or cotton candy. There used to be a single gas station at basically the far edge of town that sold it and nobody else had any Faygo whatsoever. Then at one point, a little convenience store right across from my favorite movie theater started carrying it when a new store took over. It’s real nice on the rare occasion I have it.

I have to be signed in to watch any video now?English2·2 months agoFor now, a fix that works for me on that has been just restarting my phone. Probably a very temporary solution that yt is working on preventing from working, but at least it works.
AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zipto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•What is this shit? I have to be signed in to watch any video now?English11·2 months agoThis is why I use things like Newpipe on my phone or FreeTube on my desktop/laptop. Why deal with a massive headache when I can bypass the agitator?
AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zipto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do gamers actually like the look of gaming computers and accessories?3·2 months agoOn a personal level, I don’t like the see through towers or really basically any RGB. I have a keyboard that has RGB and if I could turn it off while also being able to see the keys properly, I would turn it off. It’s currently at the lowest setting I can do it and still see the keys.
Also not a fan of the super fancy schmancy gaming mice because I’m a firm believer trackball mice are superior.
No opinion on gaming headsets other than the ones with the attached mic are stupid looking. Design of headphones and such are slightly less important to me than the sound quality, so I can let some dumb designs slide if the quality is fantastic.

The only reason I really care about July 4 is the fireworks. It’s more tradition than anything that I see them.
Anyways, both of his terms make me feel vindicated in not being patriotic in a country.
Regardless of whether you’re in a part of the country where the effects of you speaking up won’t have as much consequence, I don’t think it’s morally wrong to try and keep yourself, friends, family, and loved ones safe by not speaking out.
It’s either 1, 2, or 6 for me. All depends on what I’m wearing that day because I sure as hell ain’t changing at night if I don’t have to.
AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zipto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•You are born 250,000 years ago, one of the very first modern humans to roam the earth. What's on your to-do list?2·3 months agoGrunt and probably be dead long before I become an adult.
So many people have brought up Neocities ( modern day Geocities ) and I absolutely agree it’s an amazing site to find non-corporate and non-monetized to death sites made by random people across the globe. Definitely worth looking around there to see what others have built over time.
As for forums, I wasn’t really on that side of the internet, so no clue.
